Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson

Book 2/50

Rating: ★★★★★

Brandon Sanderson is a spectacular world-builder. In just a few pages he creates a world that I can visualize and either want to visit immediately or am grateful that I am not unfortunate enough to live there. Yumi’s world was all bright colors and sunshine to hide the horror underneath and the Painter's world was all shadows but life continued to glow bright. This was a story in which I found myself getting so invested that I would have to reread certain passages again or just had to laugh out loud. This is a book that you finish and wish there was more!
