Disneyland Resort

Guest Research Specialist

While in guest research I was able to experience what on the ground market research is like. We were able to collect valuable data for the theme parks to determine who is visiting and their opinions on how the park could be run better. I completed hourly quotas which taught me the value of time management. This experience taught me how to handle people rejecting you and to keep going even when things get hard. I also learned how to approach anyone.

Entertainment Host

While in the entertainment department I was able to be the mediator between a character and the guest, even sometimes being their interpreter. Nothing is better than seeing a smiling face after they have met their favorite Disney character. Being in this department I learned the value of time management, while I was getting the characters on and off set on time. It also taught me how to interact will all sorts of people, such as starting up a conversation while they were waiting in line to make time go faster. This was also a great opportunity to work as a team, within our department as the host and character but also with the attractions, photopass and restaurant staff.

During my time in entertainment I was able to be chosen as a specialty host, which means I was able to host special events. I was one of 30 hosts chosen for the opening cast at Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures in the Nappa Rose restaurant in the Grand Californian Hotel. Each day at Disney brought a new story that will stay with me always.
